Explore pathways to a career in technology

Curious about a career in technology?  Technology Pathways are fully-funded technology sampler programs designed to help you discover your interests. 

Students working in Lab

Technology workers are in demand in B.C. and 鶹ýӳ is responding to industry needs by supporting equity-deserving groups in accessing technology education and career opportunities.

The Technology Pathway program is a place to learn, discover, and explore aspects of technology and connect with others who share your interests. 

From mentoring to career development, Technology Pathways are an opportunity to empower students by reducing barriers and delivering dynamic and inspiring courses. Over 15 weeks, you'll be introduced to civil and mechanical engineering, electronics and computer science.

What to expect

Technology Pathways students attend 鶹ýӳ College’s Interurban Campus five days a week for 15 weeks. While you're here you'll take part in interactive learning activities and:

  • Explore various technology fields including:
    • Civil engineering.
    • Computer science.
    • Electronics.
    • Mechanical engineering.
  • Develop confidence in your ability to learn and succeed in one or more of the four fields of technology.
  • Learn to use a technology perspective to analyze problems and consider solutions to real-world problems.
  • Develop the academic and learning skills to pursue technology-based education or academic upgrading.
  • Have access to support services like free counselling and career planning.

Graduates of the pathway program who meet admission criteria may get priority for future technology access certificate programs, including:

Tuition and fees

This opportunity is funded by the B.C. Government

The opportunity is tailored to address the underrepresentation of women in the technology sector. It is part of the provincial government’s long-term plan to meet the growing demand for talent in B.C.’s tech sector.

Eligible students are not required to pay tuition, and 鶹ýӳ provides additional support to help reduce barriers to education. These supports may include:

  • Educational costs (student fees, books and supplies).
  • Help navigating education and career pathways.
  • Community building and mentorship opportunities.
  • Access to supports like free counselling services and academic upgrading.

How to apply

Step 1

The opportunity is open to anyone who: 

  • Identifies as a woman
  • Is a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Enthusiasm to learn about four technology fields (Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Computer Science) in a post-secondary environment.
  • Grade 10 English or English 10 鶹ýӳ Alternative recommended

Step 2

Send a one-page letter of intent that includes:

  • Your eligibility as outlined in Step 1;
  • A description of why you are interested in the program, and what your future career goals are;
  • Description of your past work, and educational experiences;
  • Your phone and email contact information; and
  • The program and start date you are interested in:
    • Technology Pathways for Women -  September 2025 or January 2026

Send your completed letter and a copy of your resume to: techpathways@camosun.ca

Once your eligibility is confirmed, the coordinator will be in touch via email to arrange an intake appointment.
